SEED’s mission is to protect, empower, and support the recovery of survivors of violence and others at risk. SEED works toward this in four key ways:
- Delivering holistic care - Promoting the empowerment and recovery of survivors of violence through comprehensive services including case management, mental health services, legal services, and psychosocial support activities.
- Improving skills - Strengthening the capacity of service providers and others to support survivors of violence through education, training, and supervision programs.
- Strengthening rights and protections - Promoting policy and social change to strengthen the rights of, protections for, and services to vulnerable groups and individuals, working with international and local experts, NGO partners and civil society, and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
- Combating human trafficking - Supporting the protection and recovery of survivors of trafficking, through shelter, protection services and case management, and reducing the risk of trafficking through public awareness, technical assistance, and advocacy for legal, regulatory, policy, process, and institutional changes.
